How To Brew Drip Coffee

This is by far the most common brew method in people’s households. Although you can get a coffee machine anywhere, the Specialty Coffee Association has a list of certified home brewers. These machines meet the requirements to brew the best extraction of your Frothy Monkey specialty coffee. No matter what machine you have, follow these instructions to get the most out of your home brewer.

Step 1:

Use 8 grams of your favorite coffee per 5 oz. of water (1:17 coffee-to-water ratio). For example, our brewer today will produce 34 fl oz. (1000ml), so you would need 58 grams of ground coffee. If you don’t have a scale, 1 heaping tablespoon per 5 oz cup will work.

Step 2:

Run a small amount of water through your coffee filter to eliminate any paper taste. Pour ground coffee into the filter and shake lightly to level the coffee bed.

Step 3:

Add water to your brewer’s reservoir tank. Every machine will vary, so check your brewer’s manual to see how many ounces each cup is equal to.
