Slip & Slide Summer Blend

This is the one we'll be drinking over ice all summer.

It took three coffees to get it right. The base is a washed Ethiopian from Wenago, and it's where the tangy limonada brightness comes from. The Colombian natural, grown by young producers across Antioquia, Quindío, and Huila, brings the strawberry and fudge notes. The Rwandan Bourbon from the Rwamatamu family rounds the whole thing out like a creamy dessert. We roasted it light so the fruit stays loud, and it drinks even better over ice. We taste strawberry milkshake, limonada suíça, and fudge pops. Pour a cup and go outside.

Quantity

It took three coffees to get this one right. Three countries, three different processing methods. 50% washed Ethiopian to make it bright and tangy, complemented by 25% Colombian natural from a Young Producers program and 25% of an anaerobic natural Rwandan Bourbon. Together they taste like something you'd pull from an ice cream truck.

The Ethiopian side comes from Wenago, a washing station in the Yirgacheffe region run by Oumer Abudu, where smallholder farmers deliver ripe cherry from plots between 1,800 and 2,200 meters. Washed and sun-dried on raised beds, it is the bright, tangy, lemonade part of the cup. The Colombian side is the Young Producer Development Lot from Unblended, a rotating group of young farmers across Antioquia, Quindío, and Huila who run small experimental batches of naturals and extended fermentation, then cup them together and scale the ones that work. Buying this helps fund that learning. The Rwandan side is a Humeka lot from Rwamatamu, the family farm started by Laetitia and Gaston and now run alongside their daughter Bernice. Anaerobic natural processing concentrates the fruit and gives the blend its creamy weight.

We roasted this one on the lighter side to let all of the flavors shine. The Ethiopian keeps it tangy and clean. The Colombian brings the strawberry and fudge notes. Finally, that creamy body can be credited to the Rwandan anaerobic natural. This easy-drinking coffee is something you'll want to sip all summer long.

  • Is this a light roast?

Yep, light. It's bright and fruit-forward, but it drinks creamy instead of thin because of the Rwandan anaerobic natural in the blend.

    What's anaerobic natural mean?

The cherries are sealed in airtight containers so they ferment without oxygen. That concentrates the fruit sugars into a creamy, berry-heavy sweetness. Then the whole cherries are dried on raised beds, which is the 'natural' part.

    What's the Colombia component?

It's a Young Producer Development Lot. A group of young farmers in Colombia run small experimental batches, cup them together, and scale the best ones. It brings the strawberry and the fudge to this blend, and buying it helps support those producers.

    Is this good for espresso?

It makes a great espresso, the fruit gets concentrated and the body fills out. But this one was really built for iced and cold brew. It's a summer coffee.

Is this coming back next year?

It's a seasonal release, so it depends on the coffees we're working with next summer. Grab it while it's here.

What do Strawberry Milkshake, Limonada Suíça, and Fudge Pops taste like?

Strawberry milkshake is the creamy strawberry side, from the Colombian natural and the Rwandan anaerobic. Limonada suíça is the tangy lemon-lime brightness from the washed Ethiopian, smoothed out by that creamy body. Fudge pops is the sweet, chocolatey depth, the cacao and fudge from the Colombian. Put them together and it reads like a summer dessert.

  • We offer four grind options to match how you're brewing:

    • Drip / Pour-Over — Works for automatic drip machines, pour-over brewers (V60, Kalita, Chemex), and AeroPress. This is the most versatile grind and covers most home brewing methods.
    • Fine (Espresso) — Ground specifically for espresso machines. It's very fine, which means it'll over-extract and taste bitter or chalky if you use it in drip or pour-over methods. Only use this if you're pulling shots.
    • French Press — Coarser grind for traditional French Press brewing, cold brew, or large-batch Chemex (60+ grams of coffee). The larger grind size prevents over-extraction during longer steep times.
    • Cold Brew — Coarse grind optimized for cold brew methods with extended steeping (12-24 hours). Similar to French Press but dialed in for cold water extraction.

Not sure? Drip / Pour-Over is your safest bet if you're brewing with anything other than an espresso machine or doing cold brew.

  • Coffee brewing sits somewhere between science and personal preference. There's no single "right" way, just the way that works for you.

We've put together brew guides for:

    • Chemex
    • Kalita Wave 185
    • French Press
    • Auto-Drip Brewer
    • Cold Brew
    • Single-Serve

      Visit our brewing page here.

Each guide covers ratios, grind size, and timing. These technical foundations help you dial in your perfect coffee. From there, it's yours to adjust. A little more coffee for boldness, a slightly coarser grind for clarity, water temperature shifts for sweetness or brightness. The variables matter, but so does what you actually enjoy drinking.

Start with a guide that matches your equipment, brew a few rounds, and notice what changes when you tweak one thing at a time. That's how you find your version.
